The Willow Pattern is not only the most reproduced image in the world, its also the one that has had the most reinterpretations. I have come up with the Cape Willow Pattern to tell the story of Maria and Titus, but before this, Patricia Fraser gave us her own version through the wonderful tradition of linocut printing. Her vessels are made with a transfer that was scanned from a linocut which she made and printed here in Cape Town. The beaker, mugs and vase feature references of Cape architecture, fynbos, the Cape-South-Easter as well as some of the elements which can be found in the original English pattern. These updated classics are truly timeless and would look fantastic in a new home, or a deeply traditional one. So is the power of the Willow Pattern!
