The Four and Twenty Black Bird Pie Dish

US$24

This baking dish was designed with a gentle slope to make the serving of a slice of cake or tart as crumbless as possible. The birds on the floor of the dish were inspired by the popular nursery rhyme, ‘Sing-a-Song-of-Sixpence’ which is macabrely concerned with baking twenty four black birds in a pie. While great for a savoury quiche or casserole, the dish also works like a dream from a fruity tartin or a sponge cake.
