Nelly, the maker and marketer of these placemats is a very special soul. She knocked on our door once with a gravity-defying amount of woven wares which she had brought all the way from the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland). I absolutely loved her offerings, but at Chandler House we like to collaborate with different makers and so I asked her if she could add some blue to her place-mats. Due to the constraints of concentric rings in their production, we opted for a classic and timeless blue-bordered version of her placemat. The navy stripe gives each mat a great graphic which would look great in a contemporary home, or a more traditional Cape beach house. They also work really well as trivets for preventing scratches on surfaces or heat damage on tables.
