Traces of Home

Since moving from Cape Town to London, Lara Feldman has flourished. She has thrown herself into her new world with all her might; signing up to art courses, workshops and entering her work into a host of different exhibitions. So we feel jolly lucky to have a small collection of works from this new period her in oeuvre. The body of work we are showing this Summer are traced monotypes, a technique that Gauguin created when travelling in Tahiti in the late 19th Century. Featuring scenes of Feldman’s beloved Atlantic Seaboard, the monochromatic pages depict palm trees, passing ships and other echoes of her former neighbourhood. Traces of Home is a quiet and modest body of work that explores the themes of memory, home and loss.
