George Magaso is the resident “beadmaster” behind the incredible beaded mirrors and intricate beadwork found at Chandler House. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1969, George is a completely self-taught artist whose creative journey began at just 13 years old. He started out making wire toy cars for his siblings to play with after school, eventually selling them to earn money for his own clothes. In 1992, he moved to South Africa to pursue his wire craft. Through years of perseverance and an unwavering dedication to his talent, he transitioned into working with both wire and beads, eventually settling in Cape Town in 2010.
