The bright red lobster prompts us to think of summer lunches (and reminds us slightly of visitors from northern climes who have arrived in the Cape without packing enough sunscreen). These large, oval-shaped dishes were made for such lunches, accommodating generous salads and tasty pasta dishes at family gatherings. Each piece is hand-painted by the delightful Gemma Orkin, one of Cape Town’s best-known ceramicists. Platters may vary slightly in size.
