The Dassie or Rock Hyrax (or, indeed, Procavia capensis) abounds in Cape Town and can usually be found on our beautiful mountains. They are also apparently among the elephant’s closest living relatives… judging by appearances, a very, very distant relative. Each of our Dassies is hand-carved by the talented Lameck Tayengwa and is therefore unique in size, appearance and character.
Dimensions: Sizes range from 13 to 16cm.
Crafted in Cape Town.
