This design was inspired by Michael’s trip to the island of Paxos, in Greece. Yes, he lay on the beach. Yes, he played a lot of bridge. And, yes, he also sipped his fair share of Mastiha. But he also explored the dazzling world of Grecian pottery. One tradition in particular caught his eye: ‘Octopus Vases’ (c1500 BC), decorated by the Minoans. Their distinctive motif sees the octupus wrapping its tentacles around the container as if in embrace.
