Born in Waterfoot, England, Robert Broadley (1908-1988) immigrated to South Africa in 1926 before establishing himself as one of the country’s most accomplished painters after a successful golfing career. Renowned for his expressive landscapes, portraits, Cape architecture and floral still lifes, his works are admired for their strong composition, atmospheric light, and enduring contribution to South African art.
